I lifted this off SZ, and I liked it so much decided to post it here
"]SOME "writers" "write" as if this were still the 1950's and the viewers didn't know any better and couldn't find out "the rest of the story". When the same viewers can watch the detail oriented writings of CSI, Law and Order and other primetime hits, WHY would they ride along with the half-way to half-@ssed crap that Guza, in particular, is shilling? Why waste their time? We do more research on this soap board than Guza does before he starts to "write" his "stories"...and he gets paid to get it right.
Why sit through Type G blood?
Why sit through a bullet through the head being "a flesh wound"?
Why sit through the dumbest cops ever to graduate from a police academy?
Reruns/Marathons of Law and Order are much more interesting and dramatic.

Soaps have been touted as stupid and cheesy even in the height of their era, but it realy got me thinking...how could they possibly sustain viewership in daytime vs the newest selections of quality shows? LawORder repeats bajillion times a day, HGTV has its shows for the stay at home moms, etc.
well, thank goodness I'm not watching cuz boy what a lousy season...though something has been bothering me for awhile....the LiRicle fanbase is stillaround doing projects and keeping active on their message board...the other couple that was created in that time frame (late 02 to early '03) was GQ...I've been to soapzone and about.com and wondering WTH happened to GQ? was it only 3 yrs ago when Scott Clifton was commented on taking Tony Geary's throne and now nary a word on SZ nor the other GH boards!!! How hath someone with so much potential just vanish off the face of the air? FYI Lindsey and Scott both have 4 yr contracts so they will last until 2007...but wow what a stunner....where is their fanbase? Doesn't it say a whole lot that The LiRicles are still around but no Journey nor GQ folk
There's some talk that Grayson renewed contract on the basis that Lucy would be recasted. Now when I think of how miserable and boring the stories are on ATWT it would create a whole lot of hoopla to recast Lucy. But first and foremost, I'd like to see if they could change headwriters. (though with the ratings remaining the same, doubt it) ....Grayson what are u doing now the school is gone???? screenwriting? working on your house????
well, the sting of it all is kinda over...Lou on ATWT announced that Grayson has decided to renew on ATWT. Granted I'm hurt becuz that was not my hope for him, but hey on the bright side the worst that could happen is that he languished doing auditions and we'd lose touch with what he was doing next. He can still guest star on NY shows, and he can still do movies. I'm not watching ATWT andhavent' been in the past year...sooo not a huge loss. Grayson got to celebrate AW's 30th anniv. and now he'll celebrate ATWT's 50th next year. He'll just stay to the end of the show which i'm guessing 2007.
I know this may cause some ruckus, but knowing this and knowing how crappy the storylines are now, I hope they don't recast Lucy...I don't see anything in ATWT that would make be believe they can do good stories and characterization as of now. Everyone's going to hell. I mean let's face it. A promotional dance video is not going to bring viewers in if the stories are this lousy.
WHich turns me onto another soap in search of an exit: GH. I was far curious on how the ratings would go with their "bigger Romantic " wedding of LL2...wow, the ratings remain stale. Not even a wedding could bring the ratings up. I'm deliciously happy for a minute cuz that means more viewers saw the Liric weddings...haha.
I've found something new to obsess over which is great since I'm losing soapnet very soon and will lose even more tracks on soaps...I saw Transporter for the first time ever last weekend and loved it so much that I decided to watch more Jason Statham films this weekend. This totally renewed my interest for films, which had been waning with me not being into any film actors as of late. Wow he's cute yet macho and yum. And I've never heard of this type of route of becoming an actor...peddling fakes on a street and a producer came running by and suggested Jason to audition for Guy Richie? WoW! And golly I saw The One and Cellular and didn't notice him until now!
Also, I still have my x-men comics yay. Eventhough Romy had a good run they don't have a real story right now so we are all just hangin in limbo.
I was checking out some Grayson pics and lawdy there were some pics of himin a white collared shirt and dammit he was smokin! I cannot believe the folks still watchin ATWT say he has aged so much w/o Lucy/Peyton. Grayson, don't let go! Dye your hair! Do something!
Oh golly after reading about Daniel Cosgrove's new show I want Grayson on primetime soooo bad, I can taste it! Grayon going bad azz in an Armani suit? I'd die and gone to heaven.
It's killing me that we still don't know about Grayson's future. All these soap stars whose contracts are ending in Dec. have been announced of their departures. With G's board down and Felicia gone for now, are we going to wait?
I just saw tvguide says thorn birds playing this weekend. OHMG Peyton would play a great Meggie and G as Father Ralph! Wouldn't that be soooo hot and forbidden!

good lawd! last week, i really thought i was going to watch the world series game 6 tonight! whowould've thought Astros would LOSE FOUR STRAIGHT GAMES! I can't believe the baseball season is officially over! What really sucks this weekend is that I have zero plans and now have to figure out how to kill the time before I go back to SA town on Sunday. Yup I managed to find things to do all this week and now ran out of stuff to do dangit. Well actually, I could do some errands but got really really lazy. In fact, I'm writing this offline and pasting it later becuz I can't get online access thru my laptop and didn't want to ruin my parent's computer...long story. And this is sooo geeky of me but I didn't realize how often I was online (sans my hand pain) until I got to Htown where i had to limit time online (to keep the phone lines open here since my folks don't have cable modems).
Onto more important stuff. It really didn't occur to me til now. If the Nielsens are right, ONLY ONE IN 100 PEOPLE WATCH SOAPS????? Dang what a dying genre! To put that into perspective, CSI the no.1 TV show is watching by 1 out of every 8 folks! Well Justin Hartley and Alicia L. Willis finally made it official: they are leaving their respective soaps when their contracts end in December. I cannot believe how much drama there was Three years ago over ALW being Frons' pet and RH getting the kickoff (long story) and for it to end like this, with GH just tapering off in the ratings. Considering GH is crap right now, ALW did the best decision ever following Tamara Braun out of the soap. Tamara has done a b-film and a guest spot on ABC's Freddie...so we'll see how she'll do.
I know this is really off the wall, but for the past year I've wondered what soap stars besides Peyton would look great and do great with Grayson. I really really think Tamara and Grayson would absolutely work great together! I dunno about acting styles and such but I just keep thinking about that play, The Blue Room, and judging by the material T and G have done, they would absolutely rock! Ok, the Blue Room may be controversial with the female lead being totally nude in one of the love scenes, but I think Tams would rock playing all the fivefemale characters in the play (the play is in five acts, diff. stories).
Ok back to Justin and ALW, oddly two names I've only mentioned til now. Why? Both actors began their contracts in December. In fact Justin the same exact time as Grayson. If Grayson was to leave, he would make the announcement now? Or does he have an outlet since his website is collecting tumbleweeds? (when his board coming back up?) The reason why I'm so fired up about Grayson leaving is dang it...he's 37 and he's too damn talented to be on daytime! I WANT HIM ON DEADWOOD OR GREY'S ANATOMY STAT! And he has a killer bod to boot!

I wanted to cover Peyton's guest spot on withou t a trace today...I'm still thinking about how haunting the eppy was,a nd wow Peyton was really wastin time on ATWT (I wanted Lusty, but considering how lameo the stories are right now...) She did a great job and wondering if she think she is doing well with ahem only three guest spots this year for her career. Which ironically is not too bad considering that many exsoap stars her age are barely gettin anything. Erin Torpey has only done one b movie since leaving in 2003. enuf sad. She looked so gorgeous, i was gettin kinda worried on how bony she looked on Just Legal.
Ok gimme a break here...USC wins after they RESET the clock to seven seconds when it went to zero? Can I smell conspiracy? Does nobody want UT to rank no.1?

Wow it's been such a quiet season for Grayson...after his school closing down what's left? ATWT is sucking, and his contract ends in Dec. BTW he went to St. Jude's this weekend so mebbe someone out there will talk to him.

Alas I have one more month of soapnet; with my move I'm switching to time warner to goodbye Soapnet...but HELLO TCM! Yipee miss my classic movies.

Hi, I guess you can say Im stuck here in SAtown...I decided not to go back to Htown this weekend and save 50bucks on gas. You heard it right...it's costing me 50bucks roundtrip to travel 400 miles. And plus my vacation strarts ina week so I had to save the trip anyway. Wish me luck in VEGAS!

AW is having their reunion show tonite but G is not in it. I guess being on a CBS show, they didn't want to promote him for a former NBC soap nor a Soapnet soap.

I went to SIX stores this week to find that Star Magazine that G's in, and none carried Star! All the freakin other tabloids were there but that one. My coworker mentioned that SAtown doesn't sell Star cuz there's already a Star insert (a throwaay mini version) in the Sunday newspaper. anyhoo MCO had a pic of the soaphunks, and goodnews badnews. It wasn't worth five bucks anyway with G's face and body split down in between the page separation! MCO had nice clips of the Inside Edition skit anyway with G doing buffalo ears on Mark Collier and then jumping into a pool. He's wearing abercrombie fitch.
I do have more to talk about, but my hands need rest. WAAAAAA.
Yes, it's been one LONG month since I was able to even update with notes on my website. What happened? My HANDS WERE DESTROYED from keyboarding and working all day and coming home to work online in the evenings. Just the whole irony that I got a cable modem cuz I was spending so much time online, and to reducing it to half-hour each night due to stiffness. I had lost feeling in two of my fingers. not only that but my mattress was so bad that it gave me neck and back pains. I can't have these probs at just age 26!!!!
Anyways, I'm crazy for G as ever, just that it's kinda trickling down with all that I need to do is watch All souls last episode and watch E5. I believe 90210 will show it's 1997 eps next month. Other than that, I think I'm just looking for a couple more old soap articles from G and that's it for this year. If G renews or quits ATWT, I am very eager to know what is next on his agenda. Yes, I haven't been watching ATWT sorry to say. I'm without a regular soap for the first time in over a decade (not counting the yr I had to do externships but I even watched DOOL back then).
Other stuff: I wanted to comment on the SVU repeat I saw some weeks ago, about the 12 y/o girl who got pregnant by this "messiah" in a cult. OH WOW, Mariska freakin ROCKED! I am actually lookin forward to this year's Emmys next month so I can freakin root for her.
some advice, my really old heat/cold pack leaked and broke so I had get a new one. This time I got the microwave buddy heat pak and I highly recommend it. It doubles a a wrist rest for typers. Also Since I slouch all the time (and it did a number on my back along with my saggy mattress) I now often sit on my inflated gym ball. It forces you to sit up straight. I got it at Marshalls for ten bucks; so keep a look out and see if you can get it that cheap too (yes I use it for strength training, HIGHLY recommended! It's an invigorating workout!)
The newest issue of InsideTV (now My fave mag) has a two page feature on GL's Gus and Harley's wedding. That's so awesome considering how u don't see soap press often. I also adore Ricky Paull and Beth (though don't watch GL unless I had a regular day off , rarely)
