I took a gander and watched some soaps today. Soapnet's Another World is showing their 1989 eps and dang, Anne Heche was rockin!!! And wow she has aged versus her time on AW! I think viewers really loved to see an actress playing opposite twins. As an aside, I won't get Soapnet anymore. but then I only watch when they have classic eps trotted out and the preEmmy shows!

I saw the last segment of Passions and WTH they had an outside location shoot???? How can they afford it and GH can't? The last time GH filmed outside? 1996 with Jax and Brenda's Malibu spree!!!!!!!!

Yes, just really sighing on the idea that the only press soaps get is when they star on reality TV! to have Kelly Monaco get on talk shows not cuz of GH but cuz she won Dancing with the Stars...what an upshot!

HI more G stuff

OH heaven help me. I was privy to two new interviews online from Grayson . The dude is a ball of jovial fun. All this Grayson goody, the emmy pic I'm waiting for, and two new interviews and waiting for e5 to arrive...Whoppee!

Guess I'll comment on the RIcky Paull Goldin interview with G. Ricky looks like a sportscaster!!! and at first I thought the bridge in the background was the San Francisco Bridge but silly me they are In NYC so hence the Brooklyn Bridge! Once again they have a very nice rapport. Ricky once again can't believe G got all good looking after his "gangly youth" look on AW...LMAO!

oh whoa, this was my first time seeing G in a white shirt. And in a hunky point of view, I keep thinking about that James Dean pic of him walking in a black overcoat down a street in NYC. G could totally pull that off! Anywhoo, It was pretty sweet that G called Ricky his mentor on AW (though could've sworn Ricky Paull left before GM came onto AW). It's pretty endearing interview with Ricky P asking hiim if he wanted to get married and have lil McCouch's running around) EGADS just lil mini-Grayson's running around his knees? Sigh.

I love Grayson's hearty laugh...you can see he can be serious about his craft (Ricky says "intensity") and get all smartazz and joking as well. Plus, is it me or did his hair look bushier?

There's

a possiblity that Grayson may not be staying on ATWT onto a second contract. A post was posted on his site that he may not even go to Martha's StJude event if he's not going to re-sign. Which I felt kinda odd about since the event is in October and G's contract ends in December! I don't see any connection.

A side note for Grayson...Oh lawdy this man is being wasted on daytime...He would ROCK on a primetime cable series, and sometimes I wish Nip/Tuck started with him in the starring role!

acting jobs

Why do actors stay on? Because they can at least be working actors, making a living. The streets of Hollywood are littered w/wannabes & people who had a little success, waiting for their next 'big break' while waiting tables, cleaning pools & anything else to make ends meet. Most actors know more unemployed actors than those able to make a living at their craft. Many are talented, deserving people, but the pool of talent is always much bigger than the number of roles available. They know that they are just a paycheck or two away from being back on the unemployment line or obscurity--neither being desireable.

peyton on just legal

Well, looks like it's been established Peyton will just do a guest spot on Just Legal. I wonder how long she can last--so basically the last 7 months she only got two guest spots. Wonderin if she is going to have a timeline of how she's going to survive...unless she'll continue modeling to pay the bills.

Simpsons

I think the season finale of the Simpsons was about Bart and Homer joining the Catholic church. Anyway, just wanted to add the priest that Liam Neeson portrayed looked exactly LIKE him! whoa!

I saw Star Wars III today, and I'm quite pleased cuz yup I didn't pay a cent on my movie ticket. I won it on Blingo. Well, one thing that struck me...dayum Ewan McGregor is Hot. I can't help think of the gajillion fansites about Ewan. Here's a message board for him linky

someone on mediadomain asked why would Corbin would want to be in soaps---"didn't he make enough money from LA Law?" That got to me because you never hear salaries of those on tv dramas!!!! The cast from Seingfeld made 20 mil EACH during the last seasons of the show and so did the Friends cast.

Someone mentioned how comedies are able to sell very well in syndication and with that potential, advertisers are more than willing to pay up. Knowing this...and also that talk shows/reality shows are very cheap, how longer can soaps last?

Well on another board, a poster posted how Maurice has let go and looks so pudgy but the pressure is put on actresses to do work and look good...ala Hunter Tylo just lookin soooo plastic these days. BOYYY>>>What a fate of showbiz

Grayson's accent

I was watching the emmy presentation again and it didn't occur to me how thinck Grayson's NY accent was/is. I honestly thought when I saw the early Dusty 2003 clips that G was just makin Dusty sound gangster. When in fact G was just really letting go cuz in most of his other roles you can't detect any accent. (ok this was very important in Legacy when they were from Kentucky!) Like most regional actors, they have to on top of memorizing lines, remember to hold down the accent.

Someone on another board claimed Grayson is full of it and thinks he's acting god and great. OMG I've read just about every darn G interview out there and I never ever thought anything like that! It's his costars/directors/fans who praise him! Egads, this man even blushed when he was told his was in top running for Soap Adonis 2004 on soaphunks.net! I've heard the preparation he does and how much he works at his lines (and granted we don't know how much now consideringhe has zero story) and that me being very sardonic and picky and out of jillion actors I've seen, it's Grayson that I adore and respect.

CSI, emmys, Grayson

I was watching CSI's fantastic finale, and it did get me thinking about how ATWT did Lucy's buried alive story last summer. You know with the small budget of soaps, I was even surprised ATWT bothered with all that dirt only to use for two episodes. Costly! Does Proctor/Gamble have more money to budget than Disney's GH? Cuz in another eppy, Roseanna and Cabot were riding in an actual carousel!

Well CSI did prove that all the money should and much deservedly so go to primetime. I was quite impressed with the storyline and effects with Quentin incorporating his own stuff with the crazy delirious sequence of the live autopsy.

Congratulations to GL's Gus/Harley for dethroning GH's stranglehold on the people's choice votes on the Emmys last night. Can you say "sick and tired of GH block voting all the time?" When that show sux so bad?

A nice Grayson presence at least on the show that I got to tape. He was fwine! and nice to have Martha Byrne's daughter acknowledge she has a crush on Dusty Donovan. Thank u CBS for letting G present cuz that means more hot pictures of him online!

Well, I thought the Emmys really was boring, and I'm wondering if they will move it back to daytime. It's only aired in primetime since 1991.
