kirsten storms

Ok it's finally being confirmed Robyn Richards is OUT once again as Maxie and Kirsten Storms is in for GH. The thing i don't get was...they weren't interested in writing for Maxie and why now? and why not useRobyn? I hate that politics is ruining shows now...It's now all a game considering that ratings aren't going to get any better, and I'm afraid the IIC knows this. And My goodness I AM shocked that there has been no cattiness online about Kirsten coming back to soaps so quickly after trying to make it Hollywood. SHocked I tell you. I'm wondering if her agent just simply said she had no clout nor talent to make it in primetime haha. Why didn't Kirsten try a lil longer? She only like 21.

Well this leads to another topic. Some folks were talking online about how the youngins on soaps are such terrible actors and the talent pool is so limited. Someone said that simply, agents are not even suggesting soaps anymore as they are the bottom of the barrel for their talented youngins so the untalented ones end up with the soap roles. Makes whole lotta sense.

Idol, my darn stamps

Freak, out of all the freakin luck...I watched Idol last night and I LOVED Nikko Smith's "Incomplete" Well cuz of phone vote screwups they had to do revotes tonight and repeat the show. Well on Sunday, I was pondering whether I should buy a new VCR cuz my VCR sucks so bad (it doesn't tape sound anymore), then I thought, well I haven't taped anything in months. And darnit, I wanted to tape this performance and I had two chances to do it!

And out of the freakiest thing, I bought 40 stamps today and I can't find them... Either they floated out of my hands when I came back home or they are somehwere in my apt. DANGIT!

The only highlite (other than Idol repeating) was LiRic-Baby Cam scene. I saw a snappie of Rick Hearst smiling, and my heart went THUD! He's so damn sexy!!!! and I think it had been a long time since he genuinely smiled (well in this case he was workin with nu-Cam baby and Becky) EGADS he's so Fwine!

Jennifer Finnigan of Bold Beautiful Fame

Jennifer Finnigan must have THA most cunning agent out there. She has done another pilot and is the lead role on this one; a drama. This even while Committed is still hasn't been axed yet! This is pretty smart if she knew that Committed may not renew for next season so might as well try out some pilots now intead of waiting to next year! Wow as a former soapie, she is kickin azz! Lyndsey McKeon got some guest gig on One Tree Hill, and Aubrey Dollar's Point Pleasant has been axed. One distinctive feature is that Jennifer looks different from most other starlets and that's a huge plus. Plus she's actually a good actor.

I've looked at more pilot summaries and there really aren't any roles for younger actresses! WB doesn't have any it seems, so Peyton perhaps is out of luck for this year. The stuff still looks hohum so I'm actualy lookin to 2006 to see what's good for pickin for Grayson. Yes, I am secretly wishing he gets off ATWT so I can watch him again (I just have no desire for his story as of now). Since it looks like he wants to stay in New York, all there's left (if no pilots are filmed there next yr) are the other NY soaps and...the law and order trilogy.

I've been hearing rumours that Kirsten Storms is taking over Maxie on GH with the firing of Robyn Richards....wait a sec here, didn't Kirsten leave a yr ago fromDays to do her post soap career? Dang that was quick...and on another Days note, Austin Peck has come a crawlin back to daytime after 3 yrs of No work. Once again, tough break!

Someone mentioned that Peyton appears on CSI Miami and it was wrong; it was Jennifer Sky who played original Sarah Webber on GH. I didn't see the show, but I saw Jennifer's pics and I was DANG they do look alike! This is what's makin me sad cuz with Peyton lookin way too much like other actresses, she is not going to stand out in Hollywood. Me gettin her and Jessica Biel mixed up!

Michael Knight, David Caruso, Jeremy Garrett

I saw Soaptalk the other day with Michael E Knight of AMC and he told a hilarious story about how in 1986 he was invited to a Detroit Auto Show and was paid 5,000 bucks! When he got there there were 8,000 guests--unheard of for a soap star.. Well, he asked the audience if they all watched soaps, and nobody raised their hands...after more moments of awkwardness a boy asked, "Um where's the car?" It suddenly dawned on the producers that THIS WASN"T Michael Knight from Knight Rider! and wow, this was 1986 when soaps were bigger than they are now...and alas once again Primetime trumps over Daytime!

If you caught Parade Magazine last Sunday, David Caruso has the last page interview in it. He was actually candid about how they offered him mucho money to leave Blue and go into movies. wow, he was offered million dollars? And just the idea even after this fiasco, he got a second chance with CSI Miami...guess a many folks told him: DON'T BLOW IT!

After watching my Legacy tapes, I began to wonder what happened to everyone in that cast. Currently, and (sadly) only two were currently on TV...Brett Cullen's series The Mountain just got axed by the WB, and of course Grayson on ATWT. Revealing how hard it is to break it into Hollywood, most others in the cast have been relegated to roles on straight-to-video b movies. However today, Jeremy Garrett I found out is in a new comedy pilot. Dang he is still around? He 's a cutie and I totally thought he could pass off as Grayson's bro.

LIES AND THE WIVES WE TELL THEM TO (NBC) - Jeremy Garrett ("Legacy") is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about four married best friends and their relationships. Garrett will play one of said quartet in the project, which also stars Johnny Sneed, Kyle Chandler and Ed Helms. David Guarascio and Moses Port are behind the NBC Universal Television-based project, which will now tape on Sunday, March 13 at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

Grayson in an interview said that his agent in Fall of 2002 insisted that he wait to see what he could get in pilot season in 2003; he said he couldn't wait to work any longer and that's how he came to NYC and got ATWT. Which mebbe a good move conisdering the only drama/show? that lasted the first season was Las Vegas that year.

some sites

check out this Eric Close fansite...it is AMAZING www.ericclose.net
I first saw Eric on Now and Again, a show I loved and wished it went beyond the first season...I also did not know Eric did a stint on Santa Barbara! Eric and Grayson are the same age, and I guess it all depends on timing and agents cuz Eric sure did get more work than Grayson. Sigh. Anyhoo, I enjoyed the devoted site.

I saw Smallville for the first time in 2 yrs last week and I think this is the first show I've seen that is widescreen, it didn't occur to me until the middle that it was! I did like Peyton's episode and I think there was some inkling that WB would like her for their network which only means more press for me to build up her section on my site.

okay one more article to go

I have one more SOW article to type up for Grayson once I get it. HUGE news and Grayson related. TV Guide online is reporting Daniel Cosgrove has done a pilot for a law show....so we are guessing if it gets picked up, then Daniel won't renew on Guiding Light. Whoa. As GM fans might know, it was Daniel who helped GM out in getting a gig on ATWT while he was on GL...They were good buddies and to hear that Daniel wants to leave daytime is just too ironic! Just the idea he went to GL when primetime chances were out that time...

hey this is actually old bloggy I did and cut/pasted here

I looked at a Melody Thomas Scott interview about her home, and she had a wall of magazine covers she did. Wow didn't know YR made so many People Weekly covers! (wayyy back when soaps mattered more in the 1980s) We got some sadder milestones this week. Eden Riegel is off AMC, moving to L.A. like Peyton and trying out pilots for next season. What made Eden stand out in this current state of soaps was that she made household press, being blurbed in Us Weekly (about the Lianca kiss) and carrying the title of first major character Lesbian role on a soap. Once again a young 20something actor has left soaps for other stuff! I cannot seriously think of any 20something actor choosing to stay for a second contract on soaps now! (after Becky Herbst in 2000). The other news is Tamara Braun leaving GH...I was perked by two comments on the peanut gallery. One poster wailing that most likely, we won't ever see Tamara on a constant basis again (guest spots?) and the other that this is prolly Tam's final chance of making it in Hollywood whether it be in film and (more likely I think, primetime)---with Tamara being close to mid-30s sigh and a cruel showbiz world where youth is queen. One deviant from this is the cast of Desperate Housewives with a 40something roster. (side note: She kinds of looks like marcia cross, verdad? Her and also Laura Leighton (who I thought could've been Kimberly's kid sis on Melrose instead of Jane's!)

I've been checking out the current crop of pilots listed on tv news sites, and Wow, I'm even bored reading blurbs about them. More cop shows? check. hospital dramas? check. Sci-Fi X-Files ripoffs? check. Once again, if Peyton is doing pilots this season, the only one I could see fit was the WB show about 20somethings (forgot what the title was). I saw the clips of her on Smallville. Dang, she looks young! And also to see her with more makeup on, yikes. I know she's just 18, but just how the last few months on ATWT, she managed to look so much older! Nothing is really standing out like Lost or DH, though notice YET more film actors going to try TV! Billy Baldwin, Fredde Prinze Jr., and Orlando Jones are doing pilots. Wait, ALOT of film actors of all ages are tryin TV. Guess this is going to be the wave in some time.

Madchen, imponderables, GM's article

I have been a longtime of those Imponderables books in fact that and those Bathroom Readers are the only books I read nowadays. Due to my pure laziness again, I've stoppedreading books and with my short attention span just stuck to reading on the Net and mags. Please go to www.imponderables.com David Feldman is pretty insightful and does a lot of stuff besides compiling facts on his books. He's written to me twice and now I realized how big this is considering authors don't do that type stuff (write handwritten letters to fans). My imponderable for him was "Why do prices here end mostly in .95 cents and .99 cents?" That was I think ten years ago? Dang, can't belive I can recall that far back.

I love going to fansites of celebs, fictional characters, and I'm always amazed at the content. There's two I love, www.madchenamick.net and www.chez.com/madchen for the Actress Madchen Amick. Neither has been updated since 2002. She played Shelly on Twin Peaks. When I first saw her, I was just amazed at how gorgeous she was and that she was just 19 when she did TP. As a serendipitouss feat I was looking for pics of GM off Ebay and came to an auction with Madchen on the cover of Details Magazine in c.t 1988! I knew she was a model, but didn't know she started that early at 17. Well she's been working steadily in failed tv series and B-films, and she did a guest stint on ER this season. She will be in John Stamos' new series on ABC this March. I saw her and I thought she looked prettier in longer browner hair. It got me to thinking with Peyton being so young and pretty and talented would it guarantee her a lucrative career since I originally thought Madchen would be on the A-List way back when.

OK, I will finish up typing that fitness article on GM by next week hopefully. It was LONG, you know when SOD back then had LONG extensive articles.

Yipee Lost is on...

Lost is on tonite and it didn't hit me until 4:30pm coming home from work (hitting 9.5 hrs today a record) that tonite's show is new (I never watch repeats of anything). I haven't been stuck to a drama show since the X-Files so it's a miracle for me finding a show that I didn't lost interest in after 3 eps. It just KILLS me that whenever I see Sawyer I imagine what it would be like for Grayson to play him. He just screams Sawyer to me.

I was listening to Dr. Phil today on my radio, (thankfully last two hrs of work I could listen to the radio same time) about a mom who was obsessed with Brad Pitt. She talked about how she had pic of him in her bathroom on the walls of her bedroom (so that the last image she sees as she fall asleep), and watched Legends of the Fall 100 times. All I can say is....daaaanngg I wish Grayson had done more work so I could get more pics and interviews about him! It's just a waste that this fwine man is not on primetime!

SoapDigest, and primetime wishies

Okay I just received an old issue from 1994 of Soap Opera Digest, and I'm completely stunned at the more extensive content...the fonts were smaller to accomodate the length of the articles and the articles were soooo in-depth, for a Soap rag! Nowadays magazines are succinct and cartoonish! What a pity. Oh, and how this issue was all about their Soap Awards being on primetime. Now they don't show it on tv anymore and even skipped a year (2003) w/o much hoopla. Yup, had to put another "nail in the coffin for soaps" again today...w/o it would be like skipping coffee for me.

I recall Us Magazine used to be bimonthly and monthly, and it had really developed interviews and top notch photographers like Steven Meisel and Herb Ritts with incredible pics, circa 1990s...now it's photos of celebs going to the grocery store or taking out garbage! Dang I'm not going to hang up a pic of a star in rags pushing a grocery cart!

Ok back to primetime stuff, I heard on E! North Shore got axed so that means original Phillip on Days is out of work (Kenneth Johnson) along with his former Day costar, Kristen Storms whose Clubhouse got axed earlier. Even with the numerous axes, I still have this deeprooted wish that GM will not continue ATWT and try out for pilots again (though I think he wants to stick to NYC). My best hope is that he can land a NY drama show. After hearing he did private investigating, I'm like I SOOOOO need to see him as a detective on a cop show!!!!
